Breast Cancer Statistics:
- Every three minutes a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2004, it is estimated that about 216,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed, along with 59,390 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer. And 40,000 women are expected to die from this
disease.
- Breast cancer is the leading cancer among white and African American women. African American women are more likely to die from this
disease
- Breast cancer incidence in women has increased from one in 20 in 1960 to one in eight today.

Child Abuse Statistics:
|
- Each day in the United States, more than 3 children die as a result of child abuse in the home
- 84.5 percent were under the age of six; 41 percent of the children were under the age of one
- More children (age four and younger) die from child abuse and neglect than any other single, leading cause of injury death for infants and young children
- Child abuse is reported-on average-every 10 seconds
